Drinking milk after resistive exercise fitness is associated with accumulation of more muscle mass and lost more fat compared with the consumption of sugar-based energy drinks, according to a study conducted among women.
Doctors from McMaster University found that women consuming 2 cups of milk after resistive exercise (weightlifting) have significantly better results.
The authors recall the previous survey that similar results were seen in males.
Resistive exercises are usually not a typical choice of female athletes, but in contrast, are associated with health benefits such as enhancing the strength, bone resistance and improve metabolic parameters.
Within 3 months the team observed young women naïve before resistive exercises. After each workout of the women consumed 500 ml skimmed milk, while the rest - a similar-looking but sugar-based energy drink.
Women who consume milk, i gain relatively less weight - and the balance mainly because of accumulation of lean mass / fat loss. The greatest increase in strength was found on the muscles of the upper body.
